SAFE CHURCH
Rhema Sanctuary, as one expression of God’s family, strives to be a community where every person is treated with respect and embraced in love, regardless of age, race, gender, or socio-economic status. We are committed to creating an environment that nurtures the dignity and safety of every person.
We acknowledge that sin still finds expression within today’s churches. One expression of sin is the misuse of power and abuse of other people. The root of all forms of abuse is the irresponsible use of power, including the betrayal of trust within the body of Christ. We celebrate that Christ died to set us free from the bondage of sin. But, until Christ returns, Rhema Sanctuary needs to take deliberate measures to guard against the sin of abuse. The following Safe Place Policy is one of those measures.

Safe Place Training Resources
At Rhema Sanctuary, we commit ourselves to respect other people’s minds, emotions, and bodies. We have established Safe Church as the public criteria according to which the community may judge the resolve of the church to address issues of abuse within the church.
The Safe Place Training Resources aim to help you in your role in the church by ensuring you understand the Safe Church material and how it applies to you and your ministry. The following resources are available for your study but you must attend the annual Safe Place refresher training.
Orientation Training
Used for first time volunteers and staff training. This material will cover all orientation training needs but can never replace in-person group training.
Refresher Training
Annual refresher training for all volunteers and staff. This material will cover all refresher training needs but can never replace in-person group training.
